Traditional disposable straws and cutlery are typically made from petroleum-based plastics such as PE, PP, PVC, PS, and PET. These materials are not biodegradable and can remain in the environment for hundreds of years under normal conditions.

Over time, they gradually break into smaller and smaller plastic fragments, becoming microplastics that can spread throughout our environment and potentially enter the food chain.

At Safe Chosen Global (SCG), we believe there is a better choice.

Our products are made from two primary materials:

1. Tea Fiber — Giving Agricultural By-products a Second Life

A significant portion of our products is made from tea stems, an agricultural by-product that is not used as human food.

By utilizing this renewable plant fiber, we:

• Reduce dependence on petroleum-based materials.

• Give agricultural residues a valuable second life.

• Make better use of existing natural resources without competing with food supplies.

This helps reduce waste while making more efficient use of renewable resources.

2. PBS — A Biodegradable Polymer

PBS (Polybutylene Succinate), a biodegradable polymer that is widely regarded as a more environmentally responsible alternative to conventional plastics such as PE and PP.

Under appropriate biodegradation conditions, PBS can be broken down by microorganisms into naturally occurring substances, including:

• Carbon dioxide

• Water

• Biomass

In contrast, conventional plastics such as PE, PP, and PET generally do not undergo true biodegradation. Instead, they gradually fragment into increasingly smaller plastic particles that can persist in the environment.
